I walked the entire length of Toronto Islands!
It was a hot day and I wanted to get some steps in, so I hopped on a Ferry at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and headed to Toronto’s not so hidden gem, the Toronto Islands! Follow me as I walk across the island!
The journey started at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. I paid my fare and boarded the ferry to Ward’s Island! Off we go
Walking up the steps to the top deck, my favourite place to be to watch the city as it drifts away
On deck, ready to take the best seat in the house! Here we go!
Feet up and were off! I love this view
What a view!
Time to get off!
This is the view from Wards Island at the foot near the ferry dock! Impressive eh? I recommend starting your island journey on Ward’s Island so you can explore the one of a kind cottages!
Another view! Now lets start walking!
I just love this rustic cottage!
Something to see.
Hidden near the end of Ward’s Island at the edge is this quiet spot you can walk. I never see anyone walk here. Its peaceful!
The view from the eastern edge of Ward’s Island
As far as I can go, time to turn back!
A little bit of nature on the island
Fancy a swing?
Toronto Island Art Crawl
Have a seat! Ward’s Island Beach!
Who needs planes when you can take a ferry ride to paradise?
Final house on Ward’s, lets go to the boardwalk!
Walking on the boardwalk! Its long!!!
Around the bike rental and snack shop, you can partake in this view from Centre island Pier
Another Beach on the island! Centre Island Beach!
Snack bar! Now on to Centreville! The Island’s amusement park
Let walk through the Avenue of the Island. There are really nice fountains and beautiful places to sit. Disclaimer, this photo was taken before the pandemic as will the following images of the fountain and Centreville Amusement park
At the entrance to Centreville Amusement park. The fountain!
As you can see, there was pandemic screening, I chose not to enter. I have some photos from before the pandemic so I will drop those below!
Lets go for a ride!
Look up!
Moving on to Gibraltar Point!
Discovery enroute! The advertising in the bus was from Alberta! I found that ironic!
Chilling out on Gibraltar Point Beach!
This is Toronto right? Fun fact, over time, many ship have been wrecked and left on Gilbraltar Point Beach!
I stepped out on beach to see how adventurous people really were. Newsflash, they were more adventurous then me. No photos please! Onward we go!
Views from the six, Hanlans Point
Hanging out, it’s Pirate’s of Toronto
The Final stop! Hanlan’s Point Ferry Dock
Got a little wet taking this shot. Heading back to the city. What a walk. My feet were so tired. I enjoyed exploring the island and hope you did too!.
